CHIN AUGMENTATION
Chin Augmentation offers a balance to a less defined face or can further enhance an already existent chin structure. A weak chin can also make a normal size nose appear larger and already prominent nose seem even larger. It is Dr. Ward’s goal to give you results that balance relationship between the nose and chin. He will carefully examine your face and describe the procedure and the results might realistically be expected. It is not unusual to perform this procedure along with a Rhinoplasty.
Dr. Ward will show you both before and after photos as well as the actual implant devise to determine chin implant size.
This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. A small incision is made just beneath the chin area and a soft tissue implant is placed under the skin to create a new chin profile. Immediately afterwards you go home. A dressing is applied and removed within a few days.
RECOVERY
Discomfort with chin augmentation is minimal. Some swelling and bruising may occur the second day but start going away over the next few days. Follow-up appointment is made in 6 days.
