Dr. Ward graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He is distinguished from other plastic surgeons because of his prestigious number of board certifications. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and is an active member in the American Society of Plastic Surgery. He is also a board certified General Surgeon and a member of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Ward has been in private practice in Phoenix for over 20 years.

He was voted by his peers as a "Top Doc" in Plastic Surgery in 2001 and 2005 by the Phoenix magazine. This magazine features the Valley's Best Physicians (i.e. the "Doctors that the Doctors recommend").
